About Sompura Sthapati

For over a thousand years, the Sompura community has been the custodian of an unbroken tradition of temple architecture and sacred construction. As Sthapatis (master architects), we have shaped the spiritual landscape of India by designing and building some of the most revered Hindu and Jain temples across the subcontinent.

Our Legacy

The Sompura lineage traces back to the legendary Vishwakarma, the divine architect. Our ancestors were the master builders of the renowned Somnath Temple and countless other sacred structures. Each generation has added to this rich heritage, passing down knowledge of Vastu Shastra, Shilp Shastra, and temple architecture through an unbroken parampara (tradition).

We specialize in the design and construction of traditional Hindu and Jain temples, following ancient texts and scriptures. Our expertise covers Nagara style architecture, Dravidian influences, and various regional temple traditions.
